HORSE RIDING
Horseriding at award-winning Tassiriki
Ranch is a comfortable day trip from Byron Bay and the Gold
Coast and a great excuse for an overnight getaway from Brisbane. We offer a variety of accredited
horse riding activities suitable for nervous beginners through
to intermediate riders. Our activities include safe guided
beach trail rides for couples,
families, and small
groups of friends, horse awareness and riding lessons
for both adults and kids, as well as safe led pony
rides for younger children. You don't have to be staying at Tassiriki Ranch to participate
in these horse riding activities, however, advance bookings are essential.

Don't waste your time looking elsewhere, you've just found the only weekend beach trail rides operating between Port Macquarie and Noosa Heads!
Experience the pristine natural
beauty of South Ballina Beach on a guided beach trail
ride.
Prior to commencing your trail ride
your Trail Guides will match your riding ability with
one of our well-educated trail riding horses. You will
mount your horse in a secure fenced area and your guide
will adjust the saddle for a perfect fit. Your guide
will then brief you on horse control and the safety
aspects of the ride. Then it's off to the beach!
Your trail ride leaves directly from
the property passing through the cane fields and the
coastal forest and down onto the beach.
The ride then proceeds along the beach at a leisurely
pace offering the opportunity to keep an eye out for
dolphins surfing the waves, or even humpback whales
splashing and spouting just off-shore (July-November).
During the ride you will have the opportunity to walk
your horse into shallow pools along the shoreline and
ride your horse along this beautiful beach.
Our beach rides operate 7 days per
week according to customer demand. Actual ride times
will vary with the timing of low tide events in consideration
of the threatened Pied Oystercatcher birds nesting on
the
beach.

BEACH TRAIL RIDING TERMS
& CONDITIONS
Beach trail rides are available 7 days
a week subject to beach conditions and the weather. Bookings
are essential and we require a 50% deposit to confirm
all horse riding bookings.
We want you to enjoy your ride and your safety
is very important to us. We provide each rider with a
safety helmet and riding boots. For the safety of everyone
on the ride safe we have several conditions:
- Prior to leaving the saddling area all riders
MUST demonstrate an ability to independantly
mount, dismount, and control their horse.
- All riders MUST sign an Application
to Ride. Riders under 18 years MUST have a
parent/guardian sign the application.
- All riders MUST wear long pants.
- Maximum weight is 95kg.
- Minimum age is 10 years. Children under 16 years
MUST be accompanied on the ride by a parent or
guardian.
- Group rides are restricted to a maximum
of 6 riders.
- All rides are conducted at the level of the
least experienced rider on the ride.
- Uncontrolled riding is NOT
permitted.
- Should you arrive late for your beach
ride we may be forced to reduce the duration
of your beach ride so following groups are not
impacted.
- Rides will commence unless there's a downpour
or storm. Once rides begin we continue at rider(s)
or guide’s option. Sorry, no refunds for
poor weather rides.
What
to wear & bring with you for our beach rides.

Our accredited riding instructors are now available for horseriding lessons. These lessons, suitable for
adults and children over 7 years of age,
are conducted in a 16 metre round-yard for beginners or a 20m x 60m grass arena for the more advanced students. Students can choose a lesson duration of 30 minutes or 1 hour.
We provide the necessary safety equipment and a suitable
horse. Lessons cover aspects
of horse care and grooming, horse awareness, and riding technique. Check

LED PONY RIDES
We offer safe
led pony rides suitable for young children. Pony rides
are a real thrill for young kids who have never seen horses
before and a great photo opportunity for parents. Your
child will have a chance to brush and pat a pony and be
led around inside a secure fenced area.
Individual pony rides are only available for children staying at the ranch. For customers not staying at the ranch we offer pony-rides parties for groups of children (minimum 4). Check

ACCREDITATION
Tassiriki Ranch is an accredited member
of the Australian
Horse Riding Centres (AHRC) association whose objective
is to raise the standard of horse riding centres in Australia
by setting high standards for facilities, instruction,
horse welfare, supervision and safety. Our accreditation
gives you an assurance you will be riding well-cared for
horses at a clean and properly-run premises |
